Sheolian is an ancient language used by the Devils, that originates from the depths of the Sheol. Sheol's structure is unlike any Phonecian language, which has lead to difficulty in cracking it for millennia. Thus, it served as an effective cipher in the effort to defeat the High Council, and even though a "Rosetta Stone" for it has been found, little is certain.
Dictionary and syntax[]
- T'Cherno (He Who Has Long Claws)
- 'Ch = He
- T = who has
- ern = claws (the "e" at the start is only used for plurals. If it were singular, it would be "ourne" instead of "ern". Singular forms use an e at the end.)
- o = long (if placed after a noun referring to a body part).
- Y'belo (Bringer of Long Winds)
- Y' = Wind
- belo = to bring (third person)
- o = long (if a word ends with one letter, it is common to combine that with the next word in order)
- Otze = Wing (singular) (plural is Eotzon)
- The above are examples of commoner names. Higher-class Devils have different names:
- Mawat = Bleeding
- Molech = Black Hole
- Gir-Unug-Gal = Dying Suns
A paragraph, for them, consists of two introductory sentences, 3-10 middle sentences, and two ending sentences. A whole chapter would be six paragraphs.
