One of the first members of Zeus's clan of guardians, he was entrusted with prophecy and wisdom and sent by the Council to advise Mufasa on being a good king (not only because it was the right thing to do, but also since making the pride content would make them unlikely to turn to the Friends). He serves as a guardian over the animal kingdom, much like Zeus protects humanity.
